Schmidt

Info

The story behind Schmidt is a fascinating one. A brilliant human being, with a heart of gold, she is one of a kind. With music reminiscent of the roaring 20s and captivating charisma, Schmidt takes you on a journey you will never forget. Her aim: “To entertain!” Her fun: “To seduce!” And, oh, does she love to seduce.

I met Schmidt through her record label, Warner Music Group, and management, Deville Shober. They believed they’d found a modern day Marlene Dietrich, and they were right. At her manager’s suggestion, I stopped by her impromptu concert to have a listen. I heard brilliance not yet realized. Schmidt was only nineteen at that time and, but there was a mystique about her that I wanted her to explore. I wanted her to find the very essence of her inner “bad girl” and tap into her obvious “sex bomb” appeal. The Marilyn Monroe of Cabaret. I told her that her singing had to be “sensual, yet controlled. It had to have allure without being distasteful and she had to grab her listener by the balls—without causing too much damage!!!” After I finished my little speech, her entire presence changed. “This is exactly how I feel. How did you know?” she asked. “Call me crazy, but I hear it in your voice, and I see it in the way you move your hips and tilt your head. Let’s get to work.”

May 2012 her first album was released and critics all over Germany hailed her performance as “mesmerizing,” “A real Femme Fatal.” They called her voice solid and her singing poignant. We’d reached our goal. In September 2012 she begins her first European tour, meeting up with Elton John in Australia and New Zealand as his opening act. She’ll have the world by the balls soon! Maybe you, too.
